Review

Hey,

I finished the reading and now I would like to tell you my opinion about the book. :-)

I read the book because we had to read it in our English-class and I have to say that I'm really glad that we do that. The book is interesting and it isn't such a book which you read and didn't think about it. When you read this book you think about every chapter, about every page and about every sentence. Sometimes you think about it because you don't understand the situation and the reaction of the persons. Or you think about it because you understand but you would have an other reaction or would do something otherwise. But you didn't think just about the situation, people and reaction in the book, you think about your life. What you have done and what you want to change in your life. This book isn't only about reading but about thinking!!!

I like the way how we get to know the persons and their character. They aren't the same. Every person have an other character and you get to know all of them. And exactly about this is the book- about characters. I think that the author wanted present the persons and how they are. He wanted to show us that everybody is different and that someone is more in love with himself/herself and someone is more in love with other people. I think that the author made a good job and has succeeded. I can just recommend this one.

She's gone

Hello,

I would like to talk about the last part in the book. :-) Now I finished the book and I'm really surprised but I will tell you my review in the next post.

So. Stargirl left the town and left Leo. I think it's sad that she didn't say “Bye” to Leo. I know Leo was mad at her and maybe she thought that she had to hold back. It would be nice if she had said “Bye” but maybe it would be worse. We didn't know. Tell me, do you think it would be nice or worse?! I think it would be balanced- on the one side Leo would be mad and maybe he wouldn't want to talk with her. But then when she would tell him the news then he would be sad or something like that.

Leo went to Archie. There he asked him because he didn't know where Stargirl is. Archie told him that she is gone. Later Archie showed him the office of Stargirl and Leo found the folders about people- and then he found a folder with his name and there were things about him. What would you feel when someone would have a folder with things about you? I would be scared.

Later Leo went with Archie to an outcropping of smooth, pale-gray rock. There Archie left Barney. And several days later Archie left his house and there was living someone else. Archie was a good man. :-) I liked him although he said sometimes really strange things.

More than stars:

Now a bit to the last part. I have to say that I'm really glad that Leo met Stargirl because he learned new things and we see that he changed a bit. :-) He do sometimes the same things as Stargirl did. I like it that he thought about Stargirl- where she could be? What she do?

I'm happy about the end although I wished that Stargirl would stay. But you know me- I'm a romantic.

The last time with her

Hi,

I guess that I don't have much to say. Stargirl is back-we know. Leo is mad at Stargirl-

we know. But then is there the Ocotillo Ball. Leo didn't want to go there. Stargirl wanted and she did so. She went to the ball. :-) She was really beautiful you can read the description on page 168-169. She danced, she was happy and then she wasn't alone. She danced with the boy named Raymond Studemacher. Later she went to Guy Greco and he should play the song: the bunny hop

As the song started everybody except Hillari and Wayne danced and had fun. I introduced this “party” really nice. I want too.

But it wasn't just fun because Hillari was mad at Stargirl and she slapped her. But we all know Stargirl. She forgave her and gave her an kiss instead of a slap. :-) She has a good personality. Sorry that I repeat but she is, isn't she? :-) I guess that at this time she was again popular and it was at the last time. Because she went. She went to Midwest. Minnesota. It's sad because I really liked her and maybe she would have more friends because everybody liked the “party”. :-)

Stargirl is back

Hi guys,

I'm so glad that Stargirl is back. It's a good new but while reading I was a bit sad. I cannot explain why but it was so “different”. Leo didn't want to be with STARGIRL. He wanted Susan. And this makes me sad. I couldn't understand why he didn't want Stargirl. I thought that he fall in love with Stargirl not with Susan. At the beginning he loved Stargirl, he didn't know Susan. How he could love more Susan when he knew more Stargirl? I cannot understand, sorry. But it's good that Stargirl is back and she has one friend- Dori Dilson. I hope Stargirl feels better than before.... I think yes, she is happier. :-) I don't like Leo's way. Really. He isn't honest, he isn't himself. He was himself as he was with Stargirl alone. So I think. :-)

Contest

Hello friends,

one bad thing: Stargirl isn't. Now is Susan the new girl. We spoke about this. The both, Leo and Susan, went to the contest. You know that Susan have the vision that she will win and then all the students will celebrate her. What do you think about this vision? I think that she could win but I don't think that they would celebrate her. My feeling is that she is changed, she isn't such “irritating” but the students still don't like her.

Yes, she won. But we saw that nobody was there except Dori and two teachers. I felt sorry for Susan because she thought that when she would change her that then they would like her. But she was wrong. I'm really glad that Dori Dilson came. :-) It's fain that she came although she was mad at Susan. :-) I think that Stargirl could comes back because she saw that nobody likes her. Nobody likes Susan, nobody likes Stargirl. And because she didn't feel good as Susan, she could be Stargirl again. I hope so.

How feels Stargirl?

Hey my dear,

we know that Stargirl isn't anymore because she is Susan. And I asked myself- How feels Susan? Is she happy?

And this question was answered. Leo went to Susan's room and looked at the wagon. You know what the wagon is? I will tell you. Stargirl has the wagon and 20 pebbles. When she feels happy, she put one pebbles in. When she feels sad, she put one pebbles out. As she was happiest their were 18 pebbles in the wagon. And she told Leo that as she was saddest their were only 3 pebbles in.

And when Leo looked in the wagon their were only 2 pebbles in the wagon. I was more sad because she was sad, she was unhappy. :-( If she is unhappy, why she do that?

Change

Hello guys,

at the last time we talk about the part that Stargirl didn't come for several days. And now we will speak about an important part at this book. Stargirl came to the school as a new girl, a different person. She was changed. At this part I was so angry and I wanted to break off the book and all. Man, what's going on? I thought that Stargirl would be different that the other students, that she didn't care but I was wrong. She changed her character and her look. I'm really angry about this. But later I had to think about the reason. Why did she do that? I think that she is very much in love and as Leo told her all the things, she seemed to notice that he isn't satisfied with her and she should change herself. :-(

I want Stargirl back. I don't want Susan. Susan hasn't the same character like Stargirl. Susan seems “cool” and she care what the other students think and she doesn't give gifts or cards. :-( It makes me sad.

Stargirl loves Leo

Hi,

I hope you read the part with the thing “Stargirl loves Leo” and so we could talk about it. :-) So guys, I want to know- What would you do when someone who loves you and you love her or him but you are ashamed of her and then she or he would show all the students that she/he loves you?! What would you feel? Angry or more love?

I don't know how I would feel but I guess I would be ashamed. I'm indeed a romantic but I'm really shy too. And all the students would look at me and I hate it when someone look at me. Ah. Than I am a red tomato.☻ I would be ashamed but I wouldn't be angry and ignore her respectively him. I think that Leo's reaction is a bit too much. And then... I hated Leo. He is so dumb. Why he is so mad at Stargirl? Why he said all the bad things to her? I mean the thing as he told her that she isn't normal that she isn't like the other students. And than- she didn't came. Just because Leo was an idiot. Sorry, but it's the truth. :-(

Time together

Hello,

I would like to talk about the time that the both spent together. :-) I'm really happy that Leo is with Stargirl but there's one problem- he doesn't want to think about Señor Saguaro's question. I don't like that. But I hope that all will ends good.

They spent the days together and I'm really glad about this. I'm a romatic and I think that they would be a good pair. :-) And then as she gave him a kiss......Oh man....I jumped...really...I was so happy and ooooooooo. It's wonderful. :-) Are you thinking that they have to be together or that they have to be just friend?

Now a bit to Stargirl's character: I said often that I love Stargirl and her way. I like her at every next page more and more. She's a beautiful girl. Not even outside but she is inside a wonderful person. You know what I mean? She have a great heart. I see it on all the things she ever did. For example Stargirl gave gifts to someone or she made cards. And there are lot of more things she had ever done. :-) She is so sweet and I wish she I could be like her. But I don't. Unfortunately. :-( Maybe I will do something like that and I will be a better person. :-) Do you do such things like Stargirl? If you do or did something, tell me! :-) I would be glad about YOUR story and your gifts to someone else.

Visiting Archie

Hi,

Leo was at Archie's home and they talked about Stargirl. Leo is afraid that everyone in the school ignore him just because he is with Stargirl. He want that everybody likes him. And because he's afraid, he went to Archie and talked with him about that. :-) Archie is a good person and he have counsel. But he wanted to consult Señor Saguaro. He is a cactus and I thought about it, how they want to speak with him. But I think that Archie didn't really talk with him. I don't know but if helps. Why not? :-)

Señor Saguaro had one question: “Whose affection do you value more, hers or the others'?

And I ask you: What do you think, which choice he will do? :-) I hope he will stay with Stargirl but I haven't a good feeling. I guess he will choose the other students. :-( I think so because his character says all about him. He is shy and he needs attention. AND Leo knows that Stargirl would forgive him.

Enchanted places

Hello everyone,

I want to know if you believe in enchanted places?! :-) The same thing Stargirl asked Leo. I think it's interesting to see who believes and who don't. I don't believe but I have favorite places which I love. :-) And these places aren't enchanted but they are wonderful like enchanted places. You know what I mean? Sometimes I go to this places, sit down and I can think about what ever. There is no one, only me and the nature. My favorite place is in Czech and there is in a forest a rock. I climb and sit down on the tip. I really love it there because I have a good view and I'm higher to the sky.:-) Do you have a favorite or an enchanted place?

Now we switch to Stargirl and Leo: I think that the way how Stargirl change to “nothing” is strange but I was impressed. It seems like a difficult thing and I wouldn't do this. Because I cannot clear my mind. It's too difficult for me. Do you ever tried it, to clear your mind and be nothing?

The beginning

Hey guys,

I'm really surprised about Leo's reaction as Stargirl gave him the card and as she said “Hi” to him. It's funny to see how he is afraid about it and doesn't know what to do. I wouldn't ran from the lunchroom. I would say “Hi” too because I think that this wouldn't be such conspicuous. I don't like Leo's character because he just look what the other student would think about him. He isn't like Stargirl. He cares what the other people thinks but Stargirl doesn't care. :-) And I like this.

Later it's funny to see that Leo didn't want to admit that he could likes Stargirl too. He didn't even admit to himselfe. He's shy.

As he went to Stargirl I was surprised that he did that. I wouldn't say it that he would do that. :-) It's nice that the both had a chat and got to know about the other one. I think it's a beginning about a...maybe a relationship. What do you think? Do you think they just stay friend's or that they will get together? :-)

Hot Seat with Stargirl

Hello everybody,

today we will talk about the “Hot Seat” and why they are so nasty to Stargirl. I was a little bit afraid at the beginning because I feel with in every book and in this book I feel with too. Yes, yes I felt like Leo. He didn't know how it will be and he was afraid about Hillari because she was one of the jurors. Leo guessed that she would insult her.

As Stargirl did pantomime remains I was a bit soothes. But it didn't take long time until the jurors begun to be nasty. They let out their hate and they didn't care that they hurt her. I'm really glad that this found an end. I feel sorry for her. I think that Stargirl is a wonderful girl and she has an own character, Stargirl doesn't care it what the other people think. But at the moment she was hurt.

What do you think about the jurors? Do you think that Stargirl deserves it? - I don't think so. I like Stargirl and all what she did. :-)

Situation in chapter 11&14

Hey my dear friends,

now I want to talk about the situation in chapter 11 and 14 but not much, it will be short. :-) This chapter is a good one. I have many new things about Stargirl and it's interesting to see, how the students are changing. What I mean is that the students begun to be aggressive and wanted to win, at all games, at every time. They don't want to lose, they aren't able to lose. But Stargirl was the only one who can loses because she didn't see it so that she lost but she was happy that the other team won. I have to say: respect. :-)

It's sweet but it have to be difficult. The students in her school weren't such enthusiastic and on the one side I can understand them.

I like really much Stargirls way to see things like these by the better side. She doesen't see all things bad. :-) I rememered at a fantastic movie- “Pollyanna”. The girl in the movie is like Stargirl. I can only recommend this one.

Chapter 10

Hello guys,

in chapter 10 I was really surprised because I had something not understand and had to think about it. On page 44 stands the “pledge allegiance” written by Stargirl. And I don't know- What is wrong? Why they think that this is just fun or why is Leo surprised that nobody were offended? Is the “pledge” a wrong “pledge” in the country where they are?

I had to think about it and I really don't know. Maybe it's a inappropriate “pledge” but I want to ask you- Do you know what is wrong?

Later I was surprised because Stargirl was on the funeral and Mrs. Grisdale was so angry. She wanted that Stargirl leaves the house. I think about it- Why did she want it? What did Stargirl? I think that Stargirl was to Anna's grandfather close and because Mrs. Grisdale was to his father close too, she was jealous.

The last part is the part about Danny Pike. I was a bit scared when Stargirl was on the picture, which was in the newspaper. It recalls me of horror movies. I don't know why but it seems like a mystery. :D Who is this person? And there is the bike which is “fallen from the sky” and nobody knows where is it from. Yes, it's a mystery. :-)

Chapter 8

Hello guys,

I have a short text about chapter 8 for you because I think that this one is a important chapter- Stargirl had become popular in school. I have the same question as Leo: How did it happened?

Leo tells us that many things were happen. Stargirl was as a cheerleader on a football game, Hillari wanted to kill Stargirl's rat, Doris Dilson sat with Stargirl at the table for lunch and the students changed. All the students in school began to like Stargirl and they are like her. For example they bought rats.

I think that all of these things are a reason that Stargirl is popular. But the biggest reason is that the students have changed. :-) What do you think? What is the reason for Stargirl's popularity?

Chapter 7

Hello everyone,

I would like to talk about chapter 7 because it's a amazing part of this book. At the beginning I thought that Archibald Hapwood is morbid and abnormal. I was scared by all of his “decoration” in his home. I couldn't understand why he had bones there. But Leo told us that Archibald isn't morbid that he has the bones excavated. I think that Archibald is sympatic and I would like to have such good “teacher” too. I like it that the boys could visit him whenever they want and could talk with him about what ever. You can ask him, talk with him and he will give you a good answere because HE HAVE EXPERIENCE. :-) Do you have a confidant in your life? I have a best friend with who I can talk about all problems and good experience.

I like that we learn more about Stargirl in chapter 7 because the boys talk about her and Archibald know her and her parents. Now we know more about Stargirl. AND what do you think about the last words of Archibald to Leo? I was irritated. I have to confess that I didn't understand it. But now I think that Archibald suspects that there could be more between Leo and Stargirl. I suspect too. :-)

Chapter 6 "Birthday"

Hello,

now I want to tell you something about chapter 6. It's Hillari's birthday and Stargirl shouldn't sing the “Happy Birthday” -song to her. But what do you think? Do you think that Stargirl won't sing?

I'll tell you something: She will do that but on a special way. :-) I don't want to tell you more. You have to read it yourself.

BUT I will share my opinion with you...What else? :D

I wrote that I love Stargirl's way and her type, and in chapter 6 I was more excited. I had to laugh because it's so sweet, crazy and funny. I'm surprised that she chose Leo but I had expected it because why else would be the story about Stargirl told by Leo?! :-)

Chapter 5 " Beginning to be famouse"

Hey everyone,

I want to talk about the chapter 5 with you because I think that this chapter is really special. The situation in the stadium is impressive. When I read this I was so happy. I know it sounds a little bit strange that I was happy but it's the truth. I like Stargirl's type- she is crazy, she always seems to be happy and I LOVE the way how she can motivate other people. It's funny to see that all the people in the stadium wasn't in the mood and then they all had cheered. Just because Stargirl danced, punted the ball over the visiting team's and much more. She had a good mood and she “infect” everyone. :-)

But I have one question- Why wasn't Stargirl coming for the next home game? Pleas help..:)

I thought about the part that Stargirl is a cheerleader. I was surprised that she have a new friend. But I think it's good. :-) I want more friend's for her. One thing is a little bit bewildering- she is a cheerleader although nobody liked her. The students ignored Stargirl and said bad things about her. Leo have good questions on page 25 and I would like to know the same- “Did all the cheerleaders want this, or was it just the capitain's idea? Were they jealous?”

I would be really happy when you could write me about your opinion. :-)

Chapter 1-3

Hello,

I read the first 3 chapters of the book “Stargirl” and I think it's very interesting. I like the way how we learn to know the new girl- Stargirl. My first impression of Stargirl was that she is a crazy and bold girl. I never would sing in the school but I'm not like Stargirl. I am really ashamed. We can see that she isn't like other girls. In my school many girls wear the same clothes and look like “a hundred other girls in school”. But Stargirl wear crazy clothes. She has an own style (you can look on page 4, 8 and 10). I think so because who wear “an off-white dress so long it covered her shoes...” (page 4) or “A 1920s flapper dress.” (p. 10)? In my opinion these aren't such normal outfits. But when Stargirl likes this, why not? :)

I think it's sad that all students say bad things about Stargirl. I would like to know- Why? The children in the school don't know Stargirl and then they say such bad things about her. But I hope that she will get friends. :)
In chapter 3 I was so enthusiastic because Leo describes Stargirl like a wondeful girl and I introduce a really nice women(p. 15).

To the end I have a little inspiration for you. :) When I read the part where Leo pursued Stargirl I heard the song "Country Roads" by John Denver.

I think that this song is good because ever when I hear the song I see a desert. And the way from Stargirl leads in a desert. :)
